Bahraini courts have convicted and sentenced defendants to death after apparently unfair trials based on confessions allegedly extracted under torture and ill-treatment.

Since the victory of the people against the coup in 2016, the President and many parties have called for bringing back the death penalty in Turkiye to punish those who were involved in the coup attempt and killed hundreds of people.

A court in Donetsk, one of two regions that declared independence in eastern Ukraine, last week imposed the death sentence on three foreigner fighters.
